MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO
Band Background

The Band is made up of five members all dedicated towards providing a pulsating live performance that leaves its audiences, exhausted from singing and dancing along to their lively sets. Primarily they are a rock band with a huge cross section of guitar music being tackled across the decades.

Consisting of the ex-Iron the Cat trio Rich Ellis (Vocals), Chris Burrows (Keyboards) and Chris Mac (Drums) the band reformed in 2006 to create Monkey See, Monkey Do. They were joined at launch by Ronan O’Neill who now provides all the guitar work and Simon Povey who took over the solid role of Bassman in 2009. The five always provide a professional quality sound and are live mixed by the mighty, up and coming sound producer, Nick Bealey.

Band performances are always of high quality and can be over two hours in length. Their unique mix of classic and new covers ensure that even the most critical audiences cannot help but become infected by their foot tapping capabilities. They almost exclusively donate all of their profits to charities both national and local and can often be seen supporting fund raising events across the country. This support and attitude spreads throughout the band making the whole experience one of entertainment and importantly not business focused.

Being so experienced in the corporate/private party and charity arenas means the band always recognise the emphasis is on enjoyment and fun making their live gigs so sought after and in demand. They vow to only play a limited number of gigs each year to ensure they remain fresh and retain that all important energy for each performance.

They have recently been in the studio to record four of their own tracks and three well known covers to both increase their ability to raise money for charity and to provide high-end recordings as demo’s for prospective gig organisers and promoters.

The band always do their best to accommodate any gig, party or event so get in touch, they guarantee a top night (or day) will be had by all and love to meet and make friends with all age groups. Whether planning an event or simply interested to know more, please give them a shout and they will welcome you as they do everyone, with big grins and a fun time.

Band Testimonials

All performance fees once again are donated to various charities of either the band's choice or the event organisers. Both Iron The Cat and Monkey See Monkey Do have now raised well over £100,000 for various charities since there inception:

"The Bath Rugby Community Foundation would like to thank Monkey See Monkey Do for the generous donation of their performance fee at our Community Foundation Easter Ball"
Pam Burke - Community co-ordinator

'Given that Iron the Cat was a great band, Monkey See Monkey Do should be even better. Great playing with great attitude - and they're still kids compared to me!'
Nick Mason - Pink Floyd

"On behalf of the Wiltshire Regional Board of Crimestoppers I would like to thank the guys for supporting the Crimestoppers the only "Charity" helping to solve crimes. The exuberance, and quality of the stage performance together with the individual talents of the players all combined into the band which, I believe, rocked Bowood and the 10,500 audience at the Wiltshire Crimestoppers Family Fun Day like it has rarely been rocked before. "
Bill Derrick - Wiltshire Crimestoppers
